Hello. My name is Wayne Watley. I grew up in the Shreveport/Bossier area and graduated from Parkway High School in Bossier City. My hobbies and interests include jazz music, traveling, playing bass guitar, and most importantly, spending time with my wife and five dogs.
I started in the insurance industry back in 2013 as a District Leader in direct sales through Primerica. I was only doing it part time since I was also a full-time senior pastor of a small church in Bossier City. After getting my feet wet in direct sales, I decided I wanted my full-time ministry to be able to help people with their insurance needs. I have a teacher’s heart and that has served me very well in my career. I worked for a local State Farm agency in Shreveport, Louisiana. I was the sales manager and a producer there for over 2 years. Eventually, I left there to pursue a career in the independent insurance world. I was at an independent agency for 4 and a half years and I said that I would stay put here and learn all about the independent insurance world until I was ready to open my own agency. My career at this agency was so good that I contemplated just staying put permanently.
Ultimately, I found an opportunity too good to pass. Believe it or not, there is some altruism to my decision to stay in insurance. I get to help families and businesses feel secure in case of any losses. I love helping people save money, get more coverage, and draw out a game plan to help people get on track or stay on track with their finances. I’ve still got lots to learn but I am confident that, with all of the connections and experience I’ve gained, I’m ready to grow a very successful property and casualty agency just by doing what I love best and helping people.
